Happy Columbus Day

Monday was Columbus Day. We read a story about Columbus, researched him on the internet, watched a short movie and read a play about his voyage. Another way we celebrated this day was by creating our own ships. Each student was given a milk carton and paper. We let the students create their boats on their own. The teamwork that this class showed was amazing! Students worked together to assemble their ships. They turned out fantastic and the students are so proud of their work.

Did you now what I did?I made a Christofer Columbus ship. The first thing I did was cute pices of brown and white strips of papper and attached it on the ship.Next I did was I colored decerations to paste onto the ship. After that Mrs.Lickfeld took a pen and stoke it into the ship. Then she stoke a unsharpened pincile in the ship and glued it onto the ship.Well I really want this to happen again!

  12. We loved seeing your boats! They were wonderful!! Was it hard to create them with just a milk carton? How long did it take you to make them? What other things did you use to build the boats? We are students at Southwest Elementary School. We liked reading your blog!!
