A New Beginning

This year I am transferring to a school that is closer to my home. I am excited about this opportunity because it allows me to spend more time with my family and less time in my car driving. I will miss the teachers, students and school that I was part of for the past 7 years. However, I am so excited about being at a new school and teaching third grade!!! I have thought a lot about my new class. I have picked the theme of "Space Travel" this year since we will be learning about the Solar System. I am so excited to see what lies in store for me and my students this new school year!

Goodbye

Boys and girls, this has been a wonderful school year (two for some of you)! I am so proud of you because of all of the hard work that you have done. I will never forget this class. We have learned a lot of new things, and we have had some fantastic experiences. We made wonderful memories and I hope you will look back on our blog and remember all of the fun times we shared! I will miss each and every one of you!

Going Green!!

In celebration of Earth Day, we planted two garden boxes in the habitat area at our school. We planted flowers and 5 mounds of pumpkins and gourds. We learned so much!!! We are having fun caring for our seeds and watching them sprout!!

AMAZING

Today was one of the greatest day of my career. My students are publishing poetry. It is beautiful. In all of my 12 years of teaching, I feel like this has been the most valuable teaching tool- poetry. I have learned so much about my students, their fears and their dreams. It has been so rewarding.... THIS makes me proud to be their teacher!
